Once
there were two brothers
Whose
names were Jim and Joe
They
lived upon a mountain
Amid
the wilderness and snow.
Jim,
restless and unsettled
With
a spirit discontent
His
brother, a peaceful heart
Joe
KNEW why Christ was sent.
Joe
loved to read his Bible
With
brother, tried to share
For
Joe was always happy
- Poor
Jim thought life unfair.
Both
brothers now full grown
Jim
angry on the mountain-top
Until
one day came a storm
God
decided this must stop.
The
blizzard came with rage
And
snow with force, it fell
It
happened now the accident -
Jim
slipped into the well.
Joe
looked around for brother
Then
heard his fearful shout
Saw
Jim was at the bottom-
In
darkness, couldn't get out.
Well
Joe now was the wiser
So
when he found poor Jim
Just
left him for a while -
Let
God get a'hold of him !
When
time had passed away
Joe
came back with rope
To
rescue brother Jim
He
prayed discovered "hope".
Now
Jim he was not angry
Joe
saw his brother's tears
Jim
said, "I have been praying-
Did
face Eternal fears.
Said
he had Invited Jesus
To
SAVE him not from cold
But
from a sad Eternity
(Said
all his sins were told.)
Joe
glad that brother Jim
Had
called on Jesus, too!
God
Reconciled his heart
And
washed him white and new!
Now
Jim gives Praise to God
And
Peace he's come to know
Not
angry anymore, and now
He
loves his brother Joe.
Joe
cared about poor Jim
And
knew God heard his pleas
He
cared not what it took
To
get brother to his knees.
Better
off now is a soul
When
lost, for to Repent
Than
die and never know
Our
Jesus that God Sent.
