The
driver of 'Mean Green'
Revved
and dared that '55
Her
smoke was barely seen
When
her engine came alive !
Chevy
knew he had to catch
'Mean
Green' into the turn
Had
he finally met his match
With
a lesson now to learn ?
Put
her engine to the test -
'Z'
was hopped up to the max
Her
suspension beat the best -
She
had fire in her tracks !
'Mean
Green' was dueled out
She
had muscled her Exhaust
T'ward
the bayou gave a shout -
"
Not a race yet have I lost ! "
They'd
gone about a mile
When
they met into a curve
As
the driver flashed a smile
-
Chevy Black began to swerve.
Mean
Green was screamin' power -
She
was shamin' Chevy Black
And
that '55 was thinkin'
'
Z 's faster than that Cadillac ! '
That
Chevy crushed the pedal
All
he had, to the floor
But
the driver of that ' Z '
Just
laughed and 'slammed the door'.
Black
Chevy losing pad -
And
her brakes a screamin' sound
But
he gave it all she had
'Coz
he wasn't slowin' down !
Now
the Chevy burnin' lead
Cried,
" So long Z -28 ! "
To
the Bayou straight ahead -
That
'55 was Gator bait.
Just
before the Chevy jumped
Into
the Cajun Bayou deep
Heard
that driver laugh and yell
"
You were puttin' me to sleep ! "
