Dear
friend I write this letter
That
I'm sending with a prayer
Some
things I'd like to tell you
And
Good News I'd like to share
I'm
sure you must have noticed
I've
no photos to enclose
No
gaudy angel pictures
Nor
those crosses painted gold
I
do not write of friendships
Nor
of flowers in the fields
No
good deeds I have news of
And
no jokes this letter yields
I
write not of tomorrow
Or
my thoughts of yesterday
I
pray that you will listen
To
these words I have to say
I
met my Precious Saviour
Let
me tell you from the start
I've
asked for Christ's forgiveness
Now
HE lives within my heart
Tho'
many years I wasted
Still
HE washed away my sin
Today
I want to tell you
So
that you will know, my friend
Our
Saviour is not hanging
On
a shiny golden cross
HE
rose up long ago
Yes
after dying for the lost
The
angels cannot save you
Cannot
cleanse and cannot heal
No
matter what you've heard
And
friend no matter what you 'feel'
No
saint can wash your sins
And
Mary cannot make you whole
You
cannot bypass Christ
Unless
a burning hell your goal
I
write to share the Gospel
Not
to straddle o'er the fence
Or
beat around the bush
For
wasting time just makes no sense
Dear
friend I write to tell you
And
I pray you'll listen please
My
heart cried out to Jesus
As
I knelt upon my knees
HE
washed away my sins
Just
like HE promised me HE would
My
good deeds never Saved me
And
no other ever could
My
only prayer in closing
Is
not one to memorize
No
rituals or chanting
So
friend I hope you realize
Salvation
is not earned, and friend
No
ladder can you climb
Good
deeds will never save you
If
that's what you have in mind
I've
no more 'angel nicknames'
And
I've no more binding chains
I've
something now much better
Yes
Salvation I have gained !
The
reason for this letter
Is
to share with you Good News
When
Jesus died, HE died for you
HIS
Gift I hope you choose.
