Ephesians  2,  Verses 8 & 9:
 

For  by  grace  are  ye  saved  through  faith;
and  that  not  of  yourselves:  it  is  the  gift  of
God:  Not  of  works,  lest  any  man  should  boast.
 
 

John  14,  Verse 6:
 

Jesus  saith  unto  him,  I  am  the  way,
the  truth,  and  the  life;  NO  man  cometh
unto  the  Father,  but  by  me.
 
 
 
 

The  'good man'  he  was  standing
Soon  his  turn,  on  Judgement  Day
As  he  stood  now  waiting  calmly
Contemplating  on  what  to  say.
 
 

His  thoughts  were  of  the  'merits'
And  the  'ladder'  he'd   tried  to  climb
Tho'  he'd  never  called  on  Jesus
He  'chanted  prayers'  all  the  time.
 
 

Now  focused  on  'good  morals'
To  all  the  charities  he  gave
No  Personal  Relationship
With  Christ  ALONE   to  Save.
 
 

' I've  memorized  the  prayers
And  I've  prayed  to  saints  above'
'There's  never  been  a  better
Man  to  show  an  act  of  love.'
 
 

'No  cursing,  no  adultery
Of  friends,  the  count  was  high
'You  can  see  I've  been  so  'good'
For  all  I  do  is  try  and  try.'
 
 

'Confessions  on  a  Saturday
Lit  candles  every  week'
'Did  penances  on  Mondays
For  those  'merits'  that  I  seek.'
 
 

'Those  beads  are  worn  and  faded
And  my  family  came  first'
'Tho'  Salvation  was  a  Gift
I  used  'works'  to  quench  my  thirst.'
 
 

I  was  taught  to  worship  Mary
'In  my  church,  put  all  my  trust'
'I  relied  on  what  'they'  told  me
And  was  sprinkled  and  made  'just.'
 
 

'Dear  God,  You  cannot   mean  it,
Here  with  You  I  cannot  stay ??'
'My  name,  it  is  not  written
In  Your  Book  Of  Life,  You  say ?'
 
 

'But  what  about  all  my  'works'
And  of  my  every  'sacrifice?'
'No,  I  never  once  REPENTED
I  was  taught  I  could  by-pass Christ.'
 
 

'No,  it  wasn't  really  Personal
No,  that  Verse  was  never  read'
I  was  told  not  to  read  that  Bible;
Yes....  it  was  HIS  Blood  was  shed.'
 
 

'No,  that  Scripture  I  never  saw !
Must  have  missed  that  one,  also'
'After  all,  my  church  did  tell  me
Everything  I  'needed'  to  know.'
 
 

'May  I  please  just  start  all  over
Now  that  I  do  realize ?'
'I  promise  that  I'll  only  Trust
And  put  my  Faith  in  CHRIST !'
 
 

As  the  man  was  turned  away
Never  to  see   Heaven's  Gate
His  ladder,   it  had  crumbled
It  was  Hell  for  him.... too  late.
 
 

He'd  worshipped  many  others
But  had  never  known  the  Lord
The  Bible  says   'by  FAITH'
And  not  on  our  own  accord.
 
 

God's  Holy  Word  was  written
Thru'  the  Holy  Spirit's  Hand
Don't  put  your  faith  in  'others'
Or  you'll  end  up  like  this  man.
