THEY ALL
KNEW WHY
CHRIST WAS
SENT
In the southern
part of Texas
Lived a little
boy named Dan
In Sunday School
each morning
Heard about Salvation's
Plan.
He sang the
songs of Jesus
As his little
hands would clap
In Church he
sat and listened
With his Bible
on his lap.
When little Dan
grew older,
Well the day
it finally came
He gave his
heart to Jesus
Now he prays
'In Jesus's Name.'
Then on one
August morning
There a visitor
would be
A boy the
name of Steven
Who had not
yet been 'set Free'.
Now every Sunday
morning
Steven's family
was unknown
His parents never
present
And he sat
in church alone.
Dan knew that
he was searching
So to pray
for him, his goal
Because he knew
that Steven
Had a Lost
and empty soul.
Then one day
in September,
It was during
altar call
For Steven he
was praying
Singing 'Jesus
Paid It All'.
The second verse
was over
Steven, he was
singing too
His knuckles
were all white
Holding tightly
to that pew.
The third verse
just beginning
When the Lost
and lonely boy
With tears that
now were streaming
He let go,
in search of Joy.
Steven walked
that aisle,
Then he knelt
upon his knees
And Dan was
right behind him
Praying 'Jesus
help him please'.
Steven at the
altar,
There was Dan
to be a friend
The tears that
he was shedding
Would the
burden ever end ?
Steven now
in prayer
Called on Jesus,
did Repent !
And from
that very moment
He knew why
God's Son was sent.
A cold day
in December
That old door
would squeak again
There stood Steven's
parents
Who had lived
their lives in sin.
Mom could see
that Steven
Had begun a
brand new start
Dad had
seen a difference
In his life
and in his heart.
Preacher preached
a sermon
That would tell
about the Cross
Mom and Dad
were wakened
'Bout the fact
that they were Lost.
Tears began to
flow
And hand in
hand they walked that aisle
Steven right
behind them
He was praying
all the while.
Just a Sunday
later
Now to Church
the family went
Dan, he led
the singing,
They ALL
knew why Christ was Sent.
