PLUM PECULIAR
The man said I was
crazy
Dear Lord for lovin' You
Said "Further more now
Daisy,
You're plum peculiar too"
He said my love was
wasted
And all my faith
in vain
Then claimed that my
Salvation,
Would never bring me
gain
But I don't care
one whither,
Don't fret his words
at all
'Coz Jesus saved this
sinner
As Gifts go, that
ain't small
I handed him the
Scriptures,
The printed Gospel tract
All taken from the
Bible,
There written both front
and back
A visit two weeks
later,
I knocked at his
front door
"Hello again there Daisy,
Glad to see you
back once more"
"Is it for my soul
your after?"
(But I firmly held
my stand )
Then waited for his
laughter
But instead he took
my hand
He said "You know,
I'm crazy,
- Plum peculiar just like
you
And further more now
Daisy
I'm loving Jesus too"
"I read each single
Scripture
I read them one
and all
Then Jesus Saved this
sinner,
As Gifts go, that
ain't small"
"Upon my knees that
very day,
This sinner did repent
And I'm tellin' you
your daddy
Now knows why Christ
was sent".
With tears a'quickly fallin'
I hugged my daddy
tight
Later on he went
a'callin'
To fight that gospel
fight
The man called daddy
crazy
Called him plum peculiar
too
Daddy smiled an understanding
smile
Said "Here's a gospel
tract for you."
TITUS 2:14 :
Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from
all
iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people,
zealous of good works.
