' Just
Leave The Roses
There......'
I
walked into the parlor,
Then
paused to sign the book
The
room was filled with people
Shaking
hands, my fingers shook.
Tomorrow
was the funeral
Today
was for good-byes
Her
husband, he was standing,
I
could hear her mother's cries.
A
lady took my roses,
I
saw flowers everywhere
She
pointed to a table
"
I'll just leave the roses there. "
I
walked over to her coffin
And
I stared down at my friend
Too
late to say ' I'm sorry '
Now
we'd never talk again.
Salvation
wasn't mentioned
Never
once, and never twice
I
'd never told my friend
About
our Saviour Jesus Christ.
I'd
known that she was dying
And
I knew her soul was Lost
Yet
still I'd hesitated
Knowing
all the while the cost.
' For
years we were as sisters
She
got married first, then I
Our
children played together......'
Were
my thoughts; and then I cried.
How
I wish that I had told her
Of
Salvation I had found
I
had Trusted in my Saviour
Yes
it's true, I'm Heaven bound.
But
never once to ask her
'
Have you heard of Calvary ? '
or
' Let me share the Gospel '
'
Jesus Christ can set you free ! '
And
now regrets, they gathered
For
my Gift, I wouldn't share
The
tears fell as I whispered
'
I'll just leave the roses there. '
