I
love trips to the Grocery Store
(
They're the bravest things I do )
Yes
always been my favorite chore
(
Like a race with a burr in my shoe )
Look
out Produce, here I come !
(
Got Salad on my mind )
This
aisle's always lots of fun
(
And the easiest to find. )
Frozen
Foods require more thought
But
remain my dearest friends !
(
Why is my basket wheel always caught??)
Frozen
Pies ! ( these could be sins )
Aisle
three and my basket's full
But
I've only just begun !
I'm
hungry now, yet push and pull
-
Don't know when I've had such fun.
Dairy
Products - I just can't wait
For
cartons of eggs to inspect !
Gallons
of milk with expired dates
Oh
these prices ! Is this correct ??
Aisle
five...now remember, be strong...
Candy
! Dear me, I beseech !
Well
just a glance...I won't look long
Ooops
! ( Basket stopped with a screech )
Here's
aisle ten, my favorite and last
Make-up,
Hairspray and Perfume
(
This is the one I should've passed )
Now I'm an octopus. I'm doomed.
Check-out
time and I try to smile
For
my 'joyful adventure' is done
Then
I discover I skipped an aisle !
What
angry faces ! I start to run.
Back
to check-out with rosy cheeks,
Yes
this is what I live for !
And
knowing I'll be back in a week
I
cry all the way to the car.
