FOR SALVATION,
DON'T
DELAY
He had all
the earthly riches,
Had his treasures
stored up high
The money
filled his pockets,
Nothing that
he couldn't buy.
With a bank
account still growing
He had many
colored gems
With an appetite
for pleasure
And a life
of worldly whims.
His wife had
never wanted,
Not for anything
at all
His children,
they'd been given
Yes their
every beck-and-call.
A home with
each advantage,
Filled with
luxuries galore
But somehow
all his riches
Had just
kept him wanting more.
His daughter
never hugged him,
And his son
had cursed him thrice
His wife,
she never kissed him,
She could
be as cold as ice.
Just another
day tomorrow,
She'd be
shopping at the Mall
Yes all she'd
ever wanted,
Which was
anything at all.
Yet in spite
of all his riches
For a moment's
peace he wished
What was
that 'something special'
That he often
knew he missed?
Then one day
without warning,
So the ambulance,
it came
His heart
was full of raging
"Was his
empty life to blame ?"
The Doctor
told his children,
That their
daddy, he would die
His wife,
she stood by sadly
Tho' she
tried, she couldn't cry.
In a week
or maybe sooner,
For his heart
was hurt and weak
As he lay,
he contemplated
Of the diagnosis
bleak.
Then on the
second morning,
Came a Preacher,
walked the hall
The Doctor
told him 'Pastor,
There's a
man not well at all.'
'Perhaps you've
time to visit ?
In room Three,
the second floor'
So the Preacher
took his Bible,
And he knocked
upon his door.
They talked
for just a moment
Then the
man began to tell
Of all
his earthly riches,
'Twas a story
he knew well.
Then the man
of God, he asked him
"Have you
ever met the One ?"
"Who took
your place at Calvary,
God's Only
Begotten Son ?"
Now the man
he listened quietly,
Then he answered
sadly 'No'
"I've never
known my Saviour,
Sir His Name,
I barely know.'
So the Preacher
stayed to tell him
All about
our Saviour's love
How He Paid
the Price for sinners,
Paved the
way to Heaven above.
He read aloud
the Gospel,
How we must
be Born Again
Repenting and
Accepting
Yes the Pardon
for our sin.
The Preacher
read from Scripture,
Straight from
Romans, Chapter 5
That sinners
can be Saved,
That by His
Blood we're justified.
With a broken
heart the tear drops
Sadly fell
upon his face
And Repentance
filled his heart
As he Accepted
Saving Grace.
The man Invited
Jesus Christ
To live inside
his heart
His Saviour
washed him white as snow,
Now the two
shall never part.
That day some
hours later,
As the Preacher
said goodbye
The man now
Saved was smiling
Tho' he knew
that soon he'd die.
But now he
knew his life had
Only just
that day begun
He was going
Home to Jesus,
Yes he loved
God's Only Son.
That night
he left his riches,
Earthly treasures
all behind
His soul
went up to Heaven
Tho' his
shell, the nurse would find.
Yes he gave
his heart to Jesus,
Lost his
lust for earthly gain
He Repented
of sin's pleasures,
All those
sins that kill and maim.
Oh too late
he'd almost waited,
We don't
know the time or day
Jesus died
to Save the sinner -
For Salvation,
don't delay.
