Daddy,
Did You
Know ?
Oh
Daddy, did you know
I've
been praying just for you ?
I've
only got a minute
But
there's something I must do.
You
see, I'd like to talk about
The
things that make you sad
I
know you've been unhappy
And
I know the feeling, dad.
I
know that you don't mind it
That
we never went to church
And
you don't really care because
For
you, God never came first.
The
many times I asked you
'
Could we go to Sunday School ?'
You
laughed at me and answered
'
Son, a Christian isn't cool. '
Then
later on in College
When
I called you on the phone
To
tell you that I loved you
'Cause
I felt so all alone....
It
wasn't just an accident
The
day I got into trouble,
You
never really cared enough
And
dad, I needed more.
My
first day at the prison,
I
was sad and so afraid
My
heart was heavy laden
For
the price my soul had paid.
But
then I met Some One,
Who
was Introduced to me
Our
Saviour's Name is Christ Jesus
And
He died to set us Free.
The
reason that I'm calling
Is
to tell you daddy now,
I'm
hoping that you'll meet Him
And
you'll find that peace somehow.
Oh,
daddy did you know
It
was for you that Jesus died ?
They
nailed Him on a cross
The
day that He was crucified.
Oh,
daddy did you know
That
Jesus loves you very much
?
But
you'll be Lost forever
If
you die without His Touch.
So
this is why I'm calling,
Dad
it's you I'm thinking of
I
wanted you to know
About
His Sacrifice and Love.
And
daddy.... did you know
It
doesn't matter what you've done ?
I
promise, He'll forgive you
Like
He did for me.... your son.
I
have to go now daddy
But
just remember what I said
And
if you doubt Christ loves you........
Think
of the blood He shed.
