I   BELIEVE   IN  GOD '
 
 

A  man  was  on  his  death  bed
With  little  time  to  spare
The  Preacher  came  to  visit  for
Salvation  to  him  share.

" But.......  I  believe  in  God "
Was  the  dying  man's  proclaim
The  Preacher  listened  quietly
This  man  of  God  ordained.

" Yes  I  believe  in  God,  you  see
This  always  has  been  true...
I  do  believe  that  He  exists
What  more  then  can  I  do ? "

" And  furthermore,  I  do  believe
In  Heaven  and  in  Hell
So  tell  me  Preacher,  tell  me  now
What  more  is  there  to  tell ? "

"  To  many  charities  I  gave
I've  helped  those  so  in  need
I  sat  in  church  each  passing  week
And  never  lived  in  greed.  "

" I've  recited  prayers  from  a  Book
Yes  I  memorized  each  one....
A  better  man  you  will  not  find -
I  know  God  sent   ' a  Son '   "

Then  Preacher  looked  so  tenderly
Into  his  searching  face
Said  " Friend  I've  got  a  story  'bout
The  One  who  took  your  place. "

" Now  satan,  he  believes  in  God
And  trembles  at  the  thought....
He'd  like  for  you  to  bypass  Christ
- Never  hear  Salvation  taught. "

" You  see,  Salvation  is  a  GIFT
And  Jesus  Paid  the  Price
God  said  the  only  way  to  Him
Is  through  His  Son  called  Christ. "

" It's  not  enough  for  you  to  say
You  'believe  there's  a  God',  my  friend
There's  a  PERSONAL  Relationship
With  JESUS  to  wash  your  sin. "

" And  if  you  were  to  ask  the  beast
Who  walks  in  darkness  now
' Is  it  true  that  you  believe  in  God ? '
He'd  answer,  'Yes,  and  how ! "

" But  friend,  that  ne'er  will  be  enough
To  just  acknowlege  Him....
God  sent  his  Son  to  die  for  man
None  other  can  wash  your  sin. "

With  tearful  eyes  the  dying  man
Asked   " What  more  must  I  give ? "
Then  the  Preacher  looked  at  him  and  said......
" Trust  in  Jesus  Christ  and  live ! "

" You  may  not  live  upon  this  earth
But  you'll  gain  Eternal  love
If  you  REPENT  of  all  your  sins
You  shall  live  in  Heaven  above ! "

" If  you  confess  to  Jesus  Christ
That  you're  a  sinner  Lost
And  Believe  inside  your  very  heart
That  He  died  to  Pay  the  Cost...."

Then  the  dying  man,  he  closed  his  eyes
And  prayed  to  the  Lord......
' Dear  Jesus  please  forgive  me  now
I  can't  do  it  on  MY  OWN  accord.......'

' Please  Jesus,  hear  my  prayer  now
I  come  but  as  a  child......
I'm  sorry  for  my  sins  dear  Lord
Jesus  make  my  heart  reconciled......'

' I've  heard  the  Truth  and  now  I  know
That  I  cannot  climb  my  way......
I  invite  You  now  into  my  heart
Please  Save  me  Jesus   today ! '

Again  the  man,  he  closed  his  eyes
Then  quickly  left  this  earth
The  dying  man  won't  be  in  Hell......

He  called  on  CHRIST  for  his  Re-Birth !
