This poem is dedicated to and written about a wonderful,
Godly Christian woman.......a saint.  God's Holy Word
tells us that anyone who is Saved, or 'Born Again',  is called
a saint. This poem is about a saint who recently went
Home to be with the Lord.

Vertner Frances was once a precious young girl, I'm sure
not unlike the young girl in the graphic photo above.  She
grew up to be a wonderful and loving wife and mother. But
even more important than that is that this sweet young girl
named Vertner grew up to be a Born Again Christian who
truly loves our Lord and Saviour Christ Jesus.

She was from the beautiful State of Kentucky and what is
important to note is that her heart was just as beautiful as
the State where she lived. Vertner's daughter, who some of
us know as Andrea, and some as 'KentuckyLady4', is equally
just as beautiful and also loves our Lord and Saviour very
much. It's been such a blessing to me to get to call Andrea my
friend. She's also my sister in Christ and one day we'll spend
Eternity together in Heaven. Dear Andrea, I know that your
heart broke when your mother left this earth. I know how much
you miss her each day but I also know that your faith in the
Lord is great and you know that you and your precious mother
will one day be reunited.

Until then, I wanted to write this poem, dedicated to your
mama.  You and I both dear Andrea were so very blessed to
have had mothers who loved the Lord and found true
happiness in serving the Lord and living their lives for Him.
You and I share in that joyful fact and knowledge about our
precious moms.

I know I never got to meet your mother here on this earth,
but over the many months the many wonderful stories and
facts you've shared with me about your precious mama,
have somehow made me feel as if I knew her.  I know that
had I been able to meet her while she was still here that
it would have been, without a doubt, an honor and privilege
for me. I know that your mother touched many hearts and
lives while she lived on this earth.  And now, I have no
doubt that she is happier than she's ever been. Also it's
exciting to me to know that she and my own mother have
met and are in a place where they know only peace and
contentment, and a happiness that our human minds just
cannot comprehend at this time. So I write this poem for
you, and for your mother. And also for your sister Linda,
also being a sister in Christ. Tho' I don't know her that well,
you have told me she is a precious child of God. Thank
you Andrea for the many blessings I have received from
our friendship and from visiting your truly wonderful website
ministry.

A   SAINT'S   GONE   HOME

TO   JESUS

Oh  a  saint's  gone  Home  to  Jesus
Yes  your  mother's  Home  at  last
Now  all  her  sufferings  are  over
And  all  her  pain  has  passed

Once  a  precious  little  girl
Some  years  ago  to  date
Was  born  into  a  place  where
Kentucky  her  home  State

They  named  her  Vertner  Frances,
And  she  was  such  a  gift
Because  of  her  sweet  nature
So  many  hearts  she'd  lift

She  grew  into  a  woman
Who  truly  loved  the  Lord
So  great  her  Faith  in  Jesus,
'Twas  Christ  that  she  adored

When  Vertner  had  her  children,
Not  once  would  hesitate
To  tell  them  of  our  Saviour
Because  her  love  was  great

Then  one  day  would  her  children
To  put  their  Faith  in  Christ
Just  like  their  precious  mother,
Know  about  His  Sacrifice

Oh  a  saint's  gone  Home  to  Jesus
Sweet  Vertner,  Heaven's  gain
Remember  how  she  loved  you
'Til  you  see  her  once  again

Sometimes  it  pulls  our  heart  strings,
Because  we  must  let  go
The  days  may  feel  so  lonely,
 Dear  Andrea,  I  know.....

But  just  remember  something,
Because  of  Christ  she  heard
Your  mother 's  soul  is  alive  today !
'Tis  in  God's  Holy  Word

Oh  a  saint's  gone  Home  to  Jesus
And  a  Jubilee  awaits !
One day a  great  reunion
When  you  meet  at  Heaven's  gates
